CHAMBER MEETINGS




Visit a meeting and see how we impact your community!

Ambassador – Meets First Thursday, Noon. Visits new members and presents a Welcome Gift bag. Assists and greets at functions. Development Group – Meets Second Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. Stays abreast of growth issues that impact the community. Takes positions on issues and communicates those positions.

Marketing – Meets Second Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. Reviews and coordinates strategic direction and advertising of the Chamber and special events.

Education – Meets Second Thursday every other month - Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sept, and Nov at 4:00 p.m. This committee is charged with overseeing the process, marketing, reviewing and selecting of scholarship recipients. The goal is to select individuals wishing to further their education/ training or to train for a specific trade and return to the workforce at an improved income level. Addresses educational opportunities partnering with local schools. Activities include: Junior Achievement Day and Principals Reception.

Governmental Affairs/Economic Development – Meets Second Friday, 8:00 a.m. The work of the committee focuses on transportation needs, to include road widening and new roadways, parking, impact fees and other user fees, water rights and sourcing. This committee provides information and assistance to businesses considering St. Cloud as a new location; publishes a business handbook. Activities Include: Economic Forum in February Politics in the Barn in August and Candidates Forum in October.

Membership – Meets Third Monday, 8:00 a.m. Activities include Membership Development, Benefits & Services; Oversees Ambassadors Committee.

Technology – Meets Fourth Friday, 8:00 a.m. This committee advises staff and board on computer software, hardware and equipment opportunities and upgrades in addition to preparing and leading the Chamber to the ever-changing technology world. We are currently meeting on these upcoming events. If you would like to visit, call us for the next meeting date/time!

4th of July – An old-fashioned Fourth of July Celebration with lots of good food, crafts, and entertainment featuring country singer Kenyon Lockery. Special opening ceremony, “Wife Carrying Race, “Baby Contest” and the Osceola Community Choir performing in a stirring tribute to America. The grand finale is the best fireworks show in Osceola County!

Politics In the Barn - August 17. 2010 This biannual event will take place at the St Cloud Civic Center providing candidates for local, state and federal positions to meet one-on-one with voters. Attendees participate in a styraw ballot, in cooperation with the Supervisor of Elections Office, and enjoy entertainment and a BBQ dinner.

Annual Banquet – September 25, 2010 The Annual Banquet Committee’s mission is to develop, organize and present a fun filled evening of great entertainment and fine dining with a theme. It includes an Awards Ceremony recognizing those Chamber members, businesses and community leaders, who have distinguished themselves through commitment, leadership and achievement.

St. Cloud Life Community & Business Extravaganza – March 5, 2011 St. Cloud’s consumer services for the home, lawn, garden, recreation, travel, and health; retail sales and demo services, attractions include Taste of St. Cloud, live entertainment, Dessert Fest, Brew Fest and Kids’ Fair. Volunteers – Join the fun, take part in your community activities! This committee serves as the organizational arm of the Chamber to prepare each event and activity with the needed volunteers to ensure a good event.
